I am a second generation tree feller with 30 years of experience in commercial forestry. I am now in a position to accommodate smaller and potentially more sensitive woodlands due to acquiring a low ground pressure Skidder / Winch machine.
With the decline in quality forestry workers I decided to obtain a purpose build John Deer 440 Skidder. This machine is equipped with two 8-ton winches which are radio-controlled for efficient and safe skidding of your timber.
With the current emphasis on minimum ground damage, the large wide tyres on the skidder ensure low ground pressure.
The skidder is relatively small and manoeuvrable without compromising it's pulling power.
My set up lends itself particularly to jobs of a sensitive nature or where volumes are too small for the bigger contractors. I am capable of felling and moving trees that are in difficult to reach places, or too large for the in-house team.
